The censor board has cleared Malayalam superstar Mohanlal’s upcoming film Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol with a clean ‘U’ certificate, making it eligible to watch for audiences of all age groups even as it is facing uncertainty over its release on the Christmas weekend.
The ongoing dispute between Malayalam Film Producers Council and Distributors Association and the Kerala Film Exhibitors Federation (KFEF) over profit sharing has hit the film industry badly with single screen owners refusing to screen new films. The strike is threatening to stall the release of big-ticket and highly-anticipated films, including Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol this week.
